Marshalling | From Training to Rewards
Who, What, When and Where
Training sessions are organised by the Association, usually at least one a year, either at Wiscombe or Tiverton, both being reasonably central to our region. Topics covered range from “new to marshalling” to “stage set up” and everything in between. In addition, any club can request a training event which will be run by a Motorsport UK registered trainer with funding available from the British Motor Sport Training Trust.
For more information on training events contact the ASWMC Training Officer, see “contact us” on home page, or visit www.volunteersinmotorsport.co.uk. for more information.
2020 training days will be on the 1st March 2020 and 14th June 2020, registration is via the VIM web site.
The InCompass Marshals Trophy will be awarded to the marshal, who in the opinion of the ASWMC committee, has shown dedication, enthusiasm and competence as a Rally and/or Speed Marshal over the previous twelve months.
Each member club of the ASWMC will be invited to submit one nomination along with a comprehensive profile in support of their nomination. A panel of judges made up of ASWMC Officers will select the winner from those nominated and the award will be presented at the annual awards ceremony.

In addition to the accreditation, all marshal should attend a training session at a minimum of once every 2 years.
The MSA run a Marshals Register, all registered marshals receive a credit card style membership card and also available are record booklets for recording of events attended and duties performed. There is a marshals grading scheme, see below
