Marshalling | From Training to Rewards

Training

Who, What, When and Where

Training sessions are organised by the Association, usually at least one a year, either at Wiscombe or Tiverton, both being reasonably central to our region. Topics covered range from “new to marshalling” to “stage set up” and everything in between. In addition, any club can request a training event which will be run by a MSA registered trainer with funding available from the British Motor Sport Training Trust.

For more information on training events contact the ASWMC Training Officer, see “contact us” on home page, or visit www.volunteersinmotorsport.co.uk. for more information.

2017 training day will be at Wiscombe Park on the 19th March, registration is via the VIM web site.

Rewards

The InCompass Marshals Trophy will be awarded to the marshal, who in the opinion of the ASWMC committee, has shown dedication, enthusiasm and competence as a Rally and/or Speed Marshal over the previous twelve months.

Each member club of the ASWMC will be invited to submit one nomination along with a comprehensive profile in support of their nomination. A panel of judges made up of ASWMC Officers will select the winner from those nominated and the award will be presented at the annual awards ceremony.

It is a condition of marshal registration for 2017 that all marshals undertake accreditation training, which can be done either on line or in a written format, further details from the ASWMC Training Officer. In addition to the accreditation, all marshal should attend a training session at a minimum of once every 2 years.

The MSA run a Marshals Register, all registered marshals receive a credit card style membership card and also available are record booklets for recording of events attended and duties performed. There is a marshals grading scheme, see below

Final Championship Points for the 2017 REIS Autosolo Championship. Since making the points Provisional last week, I've received one update from Dave Fooks which proves that a spreadsheet is better than my maths! Dave's extra four points doesn't change the results, but at least they're now correct. Congratulations to the Award Winners. ... See MoreSee Less
